Carol Elias, who played Dorothy in a production of Wizard of Oz, in 1962. The Royal Grandmother (and Granddaughter) of Oz is my answer to her question. It would be a mess! Without a Wizard to run it, Oz has rather fallen apart since you left it and went back to Kansas. Scarecrow didnt really get a brain, he got bran, and some needles and pins, and the Tin Man didnt get a heart, but a pin-cushion, and the Lion didnt get courage from drinking a cough syrup! He doesnt have courage now, he just frightens people. According to Jon Lopez, the illustrator: This is a fresh and thoroughly delightful addition to the Oz stories with a contemporary spin that brings the series into the 21st Century, while maintaining the timelessness, tone and feel of traditional Oz. Addy, Dorothys granddaughter, is a wonderful new character who fits perfectly into the story and takes her rightful place among the rest of the traditional characters. Written by Richard Fullmer with simplicity, charm and humor, the story is fun and easy to read and is sure to engage children and adults alike. Jon William Lopez Jon Lopez has truly captured the images of my characters, as I saw them in my head!
